Roșia is a locality situated in Bihor county, with a population of 1979 inhabitants.

The old settlement formed of 2 settlements Rosia and Lazuri recorded in 1445 has a surface of 7252 ha. Is placed in a carstic zone what gives place to one of the biggest caves of Romania. The Ciur-Ponor-Toplita cave.

The cavers in 1983-1994 got over 8 siphons managing the jonin with Toplita cave they reached the entire system length of 14.9 km. 7700m of this length is an active underground curs.

The exploring of the cave is closely connected legaed with the name of the famous caver-dipper Halasi Gabor. The cave is characterized by a big variety of characteristic forms. Close to Ciur-Ponor there is the cave Ciur-Izbuc, much smaller but important from archeological point of view. There were found over 400 rests of prehistoric men. In the clay of the ground it can be seen the rests of paleolithic man's feet and of the cave's bear as well superposed what proves that the cave was at the same time the house of both creatures.

In the settlement we can see a water-mill as well what starts to be a rarity in Romania while the views of the Cutilor Gorge, Lazuri Gorge and Albioarei Gorge makes us not to regret getting to this zone.
