Sancraiu, Folk dances and songs international camp

The first dance camp organized in Sâncraiu took place in 1991, in collaboration with 5 representatives of the musicians dynasties of Calata Country, and aimed at training the choreographers. As a result of the success of this first camp, the Cultural Foundation "Archivum" in Sancraiu continued their organization helped by the most famous folk musicians. Since then, every year, in the first week of August, Sâncraiu arrives to popular folk dances from all over the world. Fill the canteen, the cultural home, the gym, and other school rooms.

Participants divided into beginner groups with medium and advanced training are trained 8 hours a day. The young ones form two groups, those who learn popular games, and those who learn the basics of popular dance. Folk songs can be learned in the camp, even singing on various popular instruments. The one-week program ends with the gala of the camp, after which the participants separate with the conviction that they will return next year.
