Ady Endre, the old Mecențiu, is the native village of great poet Ady Endre. The locality is certified since 1414. During the Tartars invasion this locality was destroyed as well. It is supposed that after the danger passed the inhabitants followers returned here. Including the churches fought for the survival of the two denominations. Their schools didn't have the same fate. The reformed church plans for saving the locality stagnate because of lack of money. In 1954 the name of the locality was changed in Ady Endre.
